LAURA FROST
EXPERIENCE

For over 20 years, Laura has worked in the business finance and accountancy space. She’s worked in property development during her time at MAB and, yes, she’s worked for some big guns during her 7 year stint with Deloitte which covered family offices as well as large enterprises within different industries. She’s been the GM of Finance for James Richardson Corporation for 6 years – running all things finance and compliance for JR Duty Free across Australia and New Zealand.

And, yes, Laura is highly qualified; she has a Bachelor of Commerce, is a Certified Accountant and a mortgage broker – as well as a few other things. All that’s well and good but, over the years, it was the growing realisation that high level, detailed, informed CFO-type support was out of reach for the small business sector that really got her goat up.

She started to advise some small organisations as a side hustle, loved it, they loved her. And just like that, Laura closed the door on corporate life and established Common Cents Advisory in late 2016. Like you when you set up your business, she was driven by a vision, a market gap and lots of blood, sweat and tears.

Laura is your CFO without all those expensive bells and whistles. A CFO as and when needed. A straight shooting CFO that demands performance from the client, that delivers, that works and celebrates with the client.

We first engaged Common Cents Advisory at the end of 2019 to handle the financial aspects of our Silk Flower corporate hire business, “Buds to Blooms”. Laura guided us through the purchase and operation of our new business, all during the unprecedented and unstable business environment of a worldwide pandemic.

Advising us, invoicing and reconciling hundreds of clients monthly, tax advice and returns and, most recently, helping us navigate through the endless government red tape. She hasn’t missed a beat. We couldn’t be happier with the service. Always cheery, always helpful, always professional, Laura is a pleasure to work with.
